It all started back in 1937 from humble beginnings in a small shop in Bradford. Fast forward 80 years and Redfern Travel dominates the business travel management industry with over 500 clients and 500,000 registered tRIPS® users.
We like to make life straightforward and easy where possible, and not just for the people who are doing the travelling, but for the people that have to process the payments and deal with the reporting as well.
That’s why, in 2009, after identifying that the future of the travel industry was online, Redfern commissioned the development of a unique online booking tool – tRIPS®.
Through our transformation plan we wanted to:
- Focus on reducing costs for our clients
- Redesign services around the needs of our customers
- Embed a focus on early intervention to better manage future demand
- Integrate services and functions around clients to improve the customer experience.
And that’s what we did! Our system, and its flexible functionality, has not only revolutionised the market, it has taken the industry by storm by enabling us to provide a streamlined and efficient service, whilst keeping fees as low as possible for our clients. Not only can you book door to door travel through a fully automated process, there are multiple unique facets to the system which, when combined, make tRIPS® the most powerful and flexible solution in the market. The system consolidates multiple booking screens with single sign on, enables shopping basket technology, allows pre-set traveller profiles, and adheres to pre-programmed travel policies to name but a few.
tRIPS® is like a shopping centre that brings consumer websites in to one place. Users still achieve that all important browsing and shopping experience and are able to review available pricing at no cost before a booking is made.
This “Shopping basket” technology allows bookers to search, select and book numerous itinerary elements (rail, flight, hotel, taxi etc) in a single transaction and all elements can be confirmed simultaneously with a single “click”.
Our system maybe easy and straightforward to use, but it’s the most secure in the market. tRIPS® is accessed via a secure https connection. System access is restricted to nominated authorised users and entry to the system is controlled via unique user name and password. Password complexity and control policy is enforced in line with Redfern’s HMG SPF Assurance to Level 2-2-x.
However, our leading edge technology isn’t the be all and end all of what we do though. Our aim is clear; to connect people with a combination of straightforward business travel technologies and friendly experts. That way our customers can book simply; travel soundly and save money.
